We have compiled a list of sites that we think are super resources for keeping up on book news and for finding that next great read.  Of course, the librarians at Schroon Lake Public Library are also fantastic resources, so please don’t hesitate to ask us for reading suggestions any time that you visit.

  • about: books: An easy-to-use search site that pulls together book-related info from across the web
  • The Best Children’s Books: Created and maintained by a team of teachers who love children’s books.  They have created this site of the best children’s books to help you quickly and easily find the ideal book for any topic and reading level.
  • BookPage: Online component of the BookPage publication that we distribute at the Library
  • Good Reads: A great place to check out bestsellers, what’s being talked about on radio and TV, and other reading lists
  • Library Reads: The top ten books published each month that librarians across the country love.

LibraryThing: Share your favorite books with friends, keep track of what you have read, catalog your personal collection, and write your own book reviews

  • NPR Book Page: Listen to author interviews and catch up on the latest book news from National Public Radio
  • Shelfari: A book-related Facebook of sorts – share your favorite books with friends, keep track of what you have read, and write your own book reviews
  • What’s Next: Find that next book in your favorite series or discover a new one – maintained by Kent District Library (MI)
